Ideas For Christmas Cards Made With Love
Just when you thought you couldn't find special Christmas cards for the special people in your life, here are some ideas for you.
Card stock and blank cards are available online and in art stores.
What you put on them makes your cards different from the rest.
You may cut the card stock to any shape you want.
Put on details with a paint pen or felt pen.
Some shapes that would be suitable for Christmas cards are:
Paint on ornaments and garlands.
Cut them joined at the hand or head, paint on eyes, mouth, buttons and outline.
Cut joined at the side. Cut hat from card stock and attach with spray adhesive. Cut one for the back to match the front. Paint on eyes, nose and scarf.
There are many more shapes. Just think of what would please the recipient and use that.
Cards can be embellished in numerous ways. I would suggest using spray adhesive for items that have to be attached.
Here are a few:
- Cut shapes from other card stock and paint. Apply any details that you need onto the cut-out and attach to the front of card. For instance, cut out a bird, glue feathers on wing and tail and put an eye on with a paint pen.
- Attach pieces of different colored tissue paper in any arrangement you like for an interesting effect.
- If you live in a tropical place, make a beach scene on front. Use a palm tree (decorated). Use sand paper for beach sand, etc.
- Attach small red beads to the front of the card in a circle. Tie a small green ribbon in a bow and glue to bottom. You have a wreath of berries.
- Paint a picture or your own on the front and write your own poem inside.
- Cut shapes from lace paper doilies (such as doves.
- Attach a photo of you and the recipient to the front. Glue gold or silver trim around it to frame it.
- Use fabric for any design or picture you want on your Christmas cards. Of course use spray adhesive.
- You can lay any object you want on the card and spray acrylic paint over it. Maybe you will need three coats. Let paint dry and take objects off. The shape will be left. Make sure the basic color is what you want the objects to be and spray with a different color. Paint won't come of object so don't use anything you want to keep.
- Cut snowflakes from large white stickers. They're easy to just stick on card.
- Use white stickers in graduated sizes for a snowman. Cut hat from black stickers. Glue on fabric scarf. Use paint pen for eyes, nose and mouth.
When using spray adhesive, make sure you are in a well ventilated room.
You will think of more ideas for Christmas cards when you start doing this. It's so much fun.
