Endless Possiblities With Christmas Wrapping Paper

Christmas wrapping paper is abundant in the stores during the holidays.

You have many choices but adding your personal touch makes it very special for the person receiving the gift.

It lets them know you have put a lot of thought into the whole gift giving process and that you care a lot about them.

Make sure the decoration is suitable for the gift.

There are many ways to decorate plain Christmas wrapping paper.

Here are some suggestions:

  • Glue on paper cut-outs (your own). Interesting shapes may be found in magazines, coloring books, etc. Draw your own if you like.
  • Glue on artificial or dried flowers or leaves
  • Stencil on a design
  • Sponge paint on paper with one or two colors. Thin acrylic paint with water and use a natural sponge.
  • Write or draw on paper with a paint pen or glitter glue
  • Glue on a collage of pretty pictures (from magazines, wall paper, etc.). Use flowers, Santa, snowmen, bells, Christmas trees, etc.
  • Attach stickers (with pictures) or use plain stickers (they come in different colors at the office supply store. Use stick-on stars as well.
  • Spatter on paint by loading a toothbrush with paint and running your thumb across it to spatter on paint. Do a second color if you like.
  • Glue on snippets of ribbon or fabric to create a design
  • Attach with glue, buttons, pom-poms, tassels, small bows (all over)

You can use plain brown paper, newspaper or comics, sheet music or magazine pages for unique Christmas wrapping paper. Iron them first to get all the wrinkles out.

Other materials may be used to wrap a gift.

Fabric such as:

  • A scarf
  • Lace
  • A dish towel
  • Tulle (tie on a tulle ribbon also)
  • Just a piece of fabric
  • Make a fabric envelope to put the gift in
